01 Right edge

Volume.

Slide one finger up the right edge of your trackpad to turn it up, down to turn it down. A glass level appears on that side of your screen while you slide.

Try it: drag the right edge of the trackpad.

02 Left edge

Brightness.

The same move on the left edge dims or brightens your built-in display. Your pointer stays exactly where it is.

03 Haptics

Feel every step.

The trackpad clicks softly at each of 16 steps, so your eyes can stay on your work. Choose Subtle, Light, Medium or Firm, or turn it off.

Install

  1. Unzip it and drag Edgeslide into your Applications folder.
  2. Open it. The first time, macOS asks you to confirm: go to System Settings › Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway.
  3. Slide an edge. Set each edge, its width, the speed and the haptics from the slider icon in your menu bar.

Or use Terminal

xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Edgeslide.app

Clears the download flag, so you can skip step 2.

Good to know

Edgeslide has no network access and no analytics. It reads the trackpad and sets brightness through private macOS frameworks, so a future macOS update could break it.
